River Tweed by Tim Berrall

Berwick awakens during the Spring, with the re-opening of the museums at the Barracks (Easter) and the Gymnasium Contemporary Art Gallery (March) and with events from Northumberland Resident's Festival to Party on the Parade.

There are also exhibitions taking place at the Granary Gallery and Berwick Museum and Art Gallery within the Barracks (re-opens Easter). For theatre, cinema, comedy and live music events, the Maltings Arts Centre is the premier venue in North Northumberland.

The twice-weekly Street Markets (Wednesdays and Saturdays) are held on Marygate and the Buttermarket (under the Town Hall).

For spectators sporting events visit Shielfield Park (Tweedmouth), home to Berwick Rangers Football Club and Berwick Bandits Speedway. If you would like to participate in some physical activities and events, go to the Swan Leisure Centre and Swimming Pool, also in Tweedmouth.
