2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the launch of the first Harry Potter books and what better way to celebrate than a trip to Alnwick Castle which fans will recofnise as Hogwarts School of Witchraft and Wizardry in the first two Harry Potter films.

Ford & Etal is a fabulous place for familys to explore. From canoeing to horse riding, 19th century artworks to mystical standing stones and watching the milling process at the 19th century cornmill to a ride on the steam train there really is something for everyone.

Whitehouse Farm Centre is Northumberland's largest farm attraction offering a great day out for all the family. Not just a farm you can meet snakes, skunks, meerkats and the many creatures in Critter Cavern. Take a walk round the paddocks and see llamas, alpacas and more. Interactive animal activities, talks and shows will keep you entertained.

A visit to The Dinosaur Golf Encounter at Heighley Gate Garden Centre has to be on the 'to do list'. Great fun for all the family followed by coffee and cake in the restaurant will make for a fun afternoon. Throughout the year there are a number of events such as car shows, dog shows and craft fairs.

Situated on the quayside of the fishing port of Blyth The Commissioners Quay Inn . This vibrant and welxoming inn with 40 bedrooms offers all day dining from breakfast to evening. Cosy booths, comfy armchairs and leather banquettes add to the laid-back ambience and the children will love the play area.
